Massachusetts Dawes Note Could this be the currency John Adams carried with him? It could very well be! Printed by the state of Massachusetts in 1780, it bears the signature of Thomas Dawes who was a Colonel in Washington's Army and who later assumed prominent positions within Massachusetts state government. He was also a neighbor of John Adams and friend of John Hancock, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

Each of these historic banknotes will have a cancellation hole and be in Fine condition. Denominations vary between $1 and $20 (denomination our choice).
