So imagine our surprise when we were offered a hoard of pristine Brilliant Uncirculated Morgans from an unusual source. It's a tale full of history. Back in 1913, the first—ever coast—to—coast road was built from New York to San Francisco. It was named the Lincoln Highway. Somewhere in Pennsylvania Dutch Country, the highway passed an old farmhouse. If the travelers passing by it every day had any idea what was in the farmhouse, they might have slammed on the brakes and tried to get some of the treasure it held!

Back in the 1960s, the U.S. Treasury released thousands of bags of 1,000 Morgan Silver Dollars that had been stashed away in its vaults. These coins were mint fresh and had never circulated. The owner of the farmhouse accumulated many of these Treasury Hoard Morgans. That might not have been unusual in itself. Except, he had 8,000 of them! We rapidly closed the deal. When we examined the coins, we were stunned by their blazing cartwheel luster and pristine silver surfaces. We submitted them to the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC).
