The reverse shows the Mace of the House of Representatives, which resides in the House Chamber when the House is in session. An eagle astride a world globe tops the Mace¹s staff. The obverse of the Gold Half-Eagle also depicts the Capital Dome. The reverse is a majestic eagle atop the canopy overlooking the Old Senate Chamber.

According to population reports, only three 1989 Congress Half Dollars have been graded MS70, making these nearly flawless MS69/PR69 Ultra Cameo coins, virtually the highest graded and finest known available.
