The "Penny Black" was a one cent black postage stamp introduced in 1840 to simplify the mailing of letters. To honor the 150th anniversary of this stamp, the unique Penny Black Crown was issued in 1990. The coin depicts the beautiful Victorian stamp on one side, and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth on the other.
Struck in your choice of Proof Sterling Silver or Copper Nickel, the Penny Black Crown has been popular with coin aficionados on both sides of the Atlantic. Each coin includes an informative storycard detailing the history and beauty of the Penny Black.
