The awesome, soul-searching aura of the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial serves
as the theme of this 1994 commemorative silver dollar. Released by the U.S.
Mint to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the memorial in Washington,
D.C., the design is a moving image of an outstretched hand touching the wall
with several names clearly visible. In the background, the Washington
Monument stands in somber reverence to the lives sacrificed in the divisive
conflict of the 1960s and '70s. America is only now, more than 30 years
after the last troops pulled out of Vietnam, beginning to realize, respect
and honor the valor and heroism Vietnam veterans exhibited in the conflict.
Only 226,262 Proof coins were struck for this release, and the specimens we
have on hand have all been certified, graded and encapsulated by the
Numismatic Guaranty Corporation of America (NGC) or the Professional Coin
Grading Service (PCGS) to be in Proof State 69 (PR69) condition. For anyone
who served in Vietnam, knew someone who served or never wants to forget the
great sacrifices made by the Vietnam Veteran, this is a piece you must add
to your collection.
