Meteorites are so rare that a small meteorite weighing under 7 pounds sold at Christie's Auction for the out-of-this-world price of $5,200! The stars on this Proof have been created by a partial plating of palladium for a special translucent effect. The 2007 Silver Meteorite Proof sold out just days after its release, and the 2008 release with a mintage of just 2,500 has already sold out at the mint.
