The first coin in the U.S. Mint's America The Beautiful Quarter program is dated 2010 and celebrates the very first national park site, Hot Springs, Arkansas. Hot Springs was established in 1832 and became a national park in 1921. The reverse of the quarter shows the same bust of Washington and inscriptions found on the State Quarter coins. The obverse features a fountain in front of the park headquarters and the date. If the history of the state quarters is any indication, these first year national parks quarters could be the toughest coins in the entire program.
