Long before the island was settled, ships were disappearing in what later became known as the Bermuda Triangle. And, in a sort of twist of fate, Bermuda itself was first settled as a result of a shipwreck in 1609! In 1959, the island issued this Silver Crown to celebrate 350 years as a British colony. And, rather than ignoring the already eerie history of lost ships in the triangle, they celebrated it by picturing two ships on the Silver—Dollar—sized crown! We found a small supply of this fifty—year—old issue, and every one is as crisp and fresh as the day it was issued!
