80-Year-Old Lucky Tibet Silver Tangka Coin
From the land of the Dalai Lama and Mount Everest, comes this fascinating "Lucky" silver coin. In Tibetan religion, a Tanka is a fabric painting that usually depicts the Dalai Lama or Buddha. The obverse features a lotus flower with eight petals, each bearing a Buddhist symbol of luck. The reverse depicts a wheel with eight petals surrounded by a star. Around the star are eight ovals with the words "Ga-den Palace, Happy and Victorious in all directions." Minted in the 1920s.
