This highly celebrated Peace Dollar was first struck in 1921 as the public yearned for a coin to lift spirits after WWI. The U.S. Mint answered with a grandiose .900 Silver Peace Dollar. It would be the last U.S. silver dollar series struck entirely in 90% silver and placed in general circulation. And at the series end, it would be a long 36 years before the U.S. Mint would create another dollar coin, the Ike Dollar.
These Roaring 20s relics were struck in limited mintages intermittently for ten years only between 1921-1935. Their total mintage is only a fraction of other popular silver coins such as the Morgan Silver Dollar. Moreover, today’s silver prices are nearing record highs and collectors are snatching up these celebrated silver dollars by the hundreds.
