The dime was the coin that embodied Thomas Jefferson's shift to a U.S. Coin system based on a true decimal system with the dime as one tenth of a dollar. From 1794 onward dimes were struck in a variety of ways from the Mercury dime to the Roosevelt dime. These U.S. Silver Coins may be small in appearance, but they can be big fun to collect.
