French Europa Star

Combining many of France’s famous people, monuments, and ideals in one coin, the 2017 French Europa Star shows such national icons the Eiffel Tower, Victor Hugo, and Lady Liberty.  The whole French Europa Star series started in 2004 and was used to unite European monetary institutions together with an annual theme that they all share.  The French Europa Star is quite popular among collectors for being both a gorgeous French silver coin but also having great historical significance and having the connection to all of Europe.

Franc Napoleon Coin

A momentous moment in history was the Napoleonic era in France.  Arguably one of the most influential emperors in history, Napoleon saw himself as a modern-day Caesar and these French gold coins show this by depicting him with a crown of laurel leaves.  Quickly rising to power and then striking his own face on every 20 franc gold coin, Napoleon quickly became a man of great renown. The franc Napoleon coin, much like many French coins, holds great historical significance alongside a great design.

French Lunar Series

Following suit with many other mints, France is striking silver coins in celebration for the Lunar New Year.  Utilizing the Chinese zodiac, 2018 saw the France year of the dog coin.  The obverse of the year of the dog coin shows an adorable hound marching forward while the reverse of the coin is a traditional screen depicting all twelve animals from the Chinese zodiac.  From a numismatic perspective, the France year of the dog coin is incredibly intricate.  This French silver coin also adds to the ever-expanding number of Lunar New Year coins.
