The Peace Dollar’s original 1921 high-relief design was so challenging it broke the Mint’s dies prematurely. But the Peace Dollar proved so popular with the American people, the relief was changed to standard for the rest of its issuance. This 90% silver beauty honors the triumph after World War I, with Liberty radiant in a tiara of light.
