1840-1907 2.50 Dollar Gold Liberty BU
Gold Coin Design Lasts 68 Years!
To mark the 200th anniversary of George Washington's birth in 1932, the U.S. Mint held a competition to design a new Washington Quarter. Laura Fraser won the competition, but because she was a woman, Treasury Secretary Andrew Mellon nixed her design. This $5 Gold Washington Proof commemorative struck in 1999 shows her original design in all it's glory. It's here for you in perfect Proof 70. Graded by Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) and Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC)-grading service varies. As a special bonus, we'll include a genuine 1932 first-year Washington Quarter in About Uncirculated condition.
