Vintage Little Miami Railroad Company Stock Certificate
Founded in 1836, the Little Miami Railroad never came close to the famous city in South Florida. An Ohio-based rail line, it actually got its name from the Little Miami River that paralleled the railroad’s proposed route from Cincinnati to Springfield. In fact, the company’s first meeting was held at the Miami House Hotel on May 13, 1936 in Waynesville, Ohio. The second incorporated railroad in Ohio, the railroad is defunct today, and most of the rail line has been converted into a popular recreational trail.
Civil War-Era Railroad Stock Certificates
While the Little Miami Railroad is no more, its memory remains as vibrant today as it did in its heyday following the Civil War when it was one of the most successful railroads in the United States. Now you can feel like a real railroad tycoon with a vintage Little Miami Railroad stock certificate issued when it was at the pinnacle of its profitability. These stock certificates come from a small cache of 50 that were issued during and just after the Civil War. Each features a decorative border, an agricultural vignette, and an illustration of the original Tom Thumb Steam Train.
This fabulous piece of American history is sure to make a nice addition to any Civil War-era or railroad collection! Act now to engineer one into your cart today before our small supply disappears down the rails!
