1861 10 Dollar Clark Gruber K-11 Pattern White Metal NGC MS62
This Civil War-Era Coin Comes Struck in "White Metal!"
Before there was a Denver Mint, there was Clark, Gruber & Company. During the days of the Colorado Gold rush, this private company was a go-to source for those looking to turn their raw gold dust into spendable coins. The company was only in operation for about three years, but in that time they struck more than half a million dollars' worth of gold from Pikes Peak. In fact, the source of the gold was so important to the owners that when they created $10 test patterns out of "white metal" in 1861, Liberty was shown adorned with a crown that says, "PIKES PEAK!"
Now you can get this incredibly hard-to-find $10 pattern, graded by NGC as incredible Mint State-62 (MS62) condition. Only five of the $10 pieces have been graded by NGC, and this piece is just one grade below the finest known!
Take yourself back to the days of the Pikes Peak Gold Rush, secure this numismatic treasure and make your American collection truly world-class!
