1865 $3 Copper Indian Princess Pattern Judd-441 PCGS PR62BN
1865 $3 Princess Pattern—Less Than 10 Known!
Struck the final year of the American Civil War, this $3 Princess copper pattern was minted using a particular obverse die that has been identified as being first used for circulating coinage in 1872. The reverse features a date that has slanted slightly to the right.
Incredibly, this coin is one of just eight known by PCGS. It comes certified in Proof-62 Brown (PF62 BN) condition—just two grades lower than the finest known in the world!
With this coin, you get a beautiful piece of American history in a denomination few know ever existed. And with such a low population in existence, you’ll be one of the very few who will ever be able to announce that this coin has arrived in their collection. It’s a piece that should be reserved for only the most elite collectors, and may be one of the centerpieces of any world-class collection.
This is the only one of these patterns we’ve managed to secure for this offer. Don’t miss out—show the world how impressive a collection can be by securing it for yours right now!
- UNIQUE PATTERN COIN – Designed by U.S. Mint Chief Engraver James Longacre, this rare pattern coin features the same die used to strike regular coins in 1872 while the reverse is that for the 1865 Gold $3 coin. This remarkable pattern coin was struck in copper with a reeded edge. A pattern coin is basically a test piece struck to evaluate the coin’s design. They are often struck in off-metals to proof standards and not approved for release.
- RARE AND HARD-TO-FIND COIN – The U.S. Mint strikes many pattern coins. Most never see the light of day, however, and are often destroyed. Those pieces that do escape are among the most sought-after coins by collectors.
- LISTED IN JUDD PATTERN GUIDE – Your coin is listed as pattern Judd-441 (J-441) in the comprehensive “United States Pattern Coins” by Dr. J. Hewitt Judd, and updated by Q. David Bowers America’s leading numismatic expert.
- GRADED IN GORGEOUS PROOF CONDITION – Your 1865 $3 Copper Princess Pattern Coin has been certified and graded by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) as being in Proof-62 Brown (PF69BN) condition, exhibiting no wear and a medium brown color.
