1875-1877-CC 10 Cent Seated Liberty G–VG
Are Carson City Liberty Dimes On Your Most Wanted List?
United States coins with the Carson City Mint mark are actively sought out by collectors for a several reasons aside from their widely popular designs.
Many of these “change coins” circulated heavily in the “Wild West” where coins were preferred to paper money and small cents coins like these were used in everyday transactions and just plumb wore out. Then there’s their highly pure 90% fine silver content —a fact that caused many coins to be melted down over the years for their precious metal. Finally, they’re also hard to find because the Carson City Mint struck coins for only twenty years, from 1870-1893. For these reasons, better-grade coins in highly desirable condition are a collector’s dream.
Here you can secure a Seated Liberty Dime struck at the Carson City Mint between 1875 and 1877. Dates will vary, but each coin will come in nice Good to Very Good (G–VG) condition, allowing you to see most of the design elements struck more than 140 ago, including the highly desirable “CC” mintmark.
The Seated Liberty Dime was designed by Christian Gobrecht, the U.S. Mint’s Third Chief Engraver, and was issued for more than half a century from 1837 to 1891. It receives its name for the obverse design that features the image of Liberty seated on a rock with a shield in one hand and a pole with a freedom cap on top in the other. The coin’s reverse features a simple wreath of laurel.
Vintage and coveted Seated Liberty Dimes from the Carson City Mint should be must-haves on your “Most Wanted” list. Secure one for your collection today!
