1904 $20 Gold Liberty Type 3 PCGS MS63

We are pleased to offer you this 1904 $20 Gold Liberty coin struck at the Philadelphia Mint and graded Mint State-63 (MS63) by Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). The 1904-P Gold Double Eagle is one of the most popular collectible gold coins among collectors, and MS63 is a very popular grade among those collectors seeking gold coins that are a significant 'cut above' the basic uncirculated grade of MS60.

You may notice that an MS63 gold coin sells for a premium over the lower grades. There is a good reason for this price difference. The MS63 grade is much more difficult for a coin to achieve. This is particularly true for gold coins, and especially the case with these hefty over one ounce gold Double Eagles.

From the moment they were struck they were at risk as they banged down on top of each other when they were rifled out of the coin press. They were then transported in 1,000 coin canvas bags from the mint to banks, then from bank to bank, jostling each other at every turn.

So, the number of coins with their full mint luster intact and with minimal 'bag marks' is much lower. This makes a 1904 $20 Gold Liberty like this a premium coin for your collection in every respect, be it as an individual example, or as part of your 12-piece U.S. Mint Vintage Gold Coin Type set.

Don't miss it!
