1909 1-Cent Collection 3 Pieces
The Year the Mint Made Three Cents!
One of the most unique years in the history of the U.S. Mint was 1909. That year, the mint struck three different cents! It was the last year for the venerable Indian Head Cent, first struck in 1859. It was the first year for the new Lincoln Cent, and although the mint never intended to make two different Lincolns, that’s what ultimately happened. You see, when folks saw the designer Victor David Brenner had placed his initials on the coin, an uproar ensued and the mint quickly removed the initials from the dies. Through a diligent effort, we’ve located all three different cents from 1909: The Last Indian Cent, the 1909 VDB Lincoln, and the regular 1909 Lincoln. All three coins in this unique collection grade Extremely Fine (XF), and the set comes with a certificate of authenticity. Order yours now!
