Key Last Year 1915 Barber Half Dollar!

Named for its designer, Charles E. Barber, the sixth Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint, the Barber Half Dollar was struck from 1892 to 1915, until giving way to the classic Walking Liberty Half Dollar at the insistence of Teddy Roosevelt who thought Barber-design coinage was stodgy. Here you have the last Barber Half Dollar from either the Denver Mint or the San Francisco Mint (mint our choice)–each more than 107 years old and struck as tensions in Europe had erupted into World War I. Barber, thought to have a large ego, designed this coin after sitting on a panel that rejected well over 300 designs! Each coin was struck in highly pure 90% fine silver and comes in nice, Very Good (VG condition), meaning it circulated in commerce and could have been used to purchase any number of goods of the era. Just imagine!
