One of the most celebrated individuals of the 19th century, General Ulysses S. Grant helped lead Union forces to victory during the Civil War, and then served two terms as the 18th President of the United States. To mark the 100th anniversary of his birth, the United States Mint issued this one-year-only, 90% silver commemorative half dollar.
