1925-P Norse-American Centennial Silver Medals NGC MS64 3 Pc Set
The Only Octagonal Commemorative Ever Authorized and Struck by the U.S. Mint!
In 1925, the Philadelphia Mint struck these one-year-only octagonal medals to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first shipload of Norse immigrants to arrive in the United States. Since many of those immigrants found their way to Minnesota, the commemorative was featured at an event held at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in June of 1925. Beyond its impressive Viking designs, this commemorative is also unique in that it is the only octagonal issue ever struck by the U.S. Mint!
This historic set includes three different versions of this incredibly hard-to-find commemorative. You'll receive two 30 mm commemoratives -- a 10.2 gram "Thin" silver version and a 14.74 gram "Thick" version, both struck in 90% silver -- as well as the massive "Large Format" 67 mm commemorative, struck in bronze and triple-plated in silver. All three are match-graded Mint State-64 (MS64) condition by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC)!
These medals are not only hard to find (only 60 of the bronze pieces are estimated to have been distributed), but also fairly unknown. They don't appear in the vintage commemorative section of the Red Book, and even seasoned numismatists are often surprised by their existence! No collection is complete without them -- but only one set is available, so order now before it's gone forever!
