1931 Christmas Coke Bottle Sign
Coca-Cola® is one of the most recognizable brands in the world. What began as a local beverage in an Atlanta, Georgia soda fountain in 1886 has become an integral part of American culture and spawned a company whose products are enjoyed 1.7 billion times a day. That enjoyment extends to collectors. Coca-Cola collector organizations exist around the world, with an annual convention held in the United States every year. And these collectors mean serious business: vintage Coca-Cola memorabilia can go for more than $100,000 on the collector market!
Vintage Coke “Christmas Bottle” Sign In Frame-Worthy Condition!
Recently, we’ve established a relationship with one of the nation’s top Coca-Cola memorabilia dealers, and so we’ve worked to bring you a fantastic selection of historic pieces we think you’ll really enjoy. This offering is a single-sided, tin embossed (SSTE) sign dates back to the Great Depression, when even a single bottle of Coca-Cola® could put a smile on your face for a week. Crafted by American Art Works Inc. in Coshocton, Ohio — a company that produced signs for Coke throughout the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, it features the “Christmas Bottle” alongside a simple suggestion: Drink Coca-Cola in bottles!
Signs like these can be found today but are often “roached out” — exceptionally worn, with chipped paint and other damage—and in poor condition. To find this sign in quality condition with full embossing is nearly impossible without access to the right collection. Which is exactly what we have! Still displaying beautiful vibrant colors, this is an incredible find. Signs like this were typically tacked on an outside wall of a gas station or restaurant where they would then be subject to the elements and rust. But this piece shows no fading of the colors. As our buyer says, “these never come up in this condition!”
If you secure this sign for your collection, we suggest having it professionally framed. It’s that nice of a piece!
