Last 90% U.S. Silver Dollar Struck For Circulation

The Peace Silver Dollar was intended as a one-year-only celebration of the end of World War I, but the series ran from 1921 to 1928 and again in 1934 and 1935. These 1935-dated Peace Dollars struck at the Philadelphia Mint represent the last year the coin was struck as well as the last highly pure 90% fine silver dollar struck for circulation. What's more, each comes certified, graded, and encapsulated by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) in high-grade Choice Uncirculated Mint State-63 (MS63) condition!

The Iconic Design Of America's Short-Lived Peace Dollar

Designed by 34-year-old Italian-American sculptor Anthony de Francisci, the Peace Dollar's obverse features the head of Lady Liberty wearing a crown of rays modeled after the design of the Statue of Liberty. The model for Lady Liberty was 23-year-old Teresa Cafarelli de Francisci, the young sculptor's wife. Imprinted on the coin's obverse are "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the year of issue. The reverse features an eagle at rest clutching an olive branch before a rising sun, along with the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and the denomination "ONE DOLLAR."

Dwindling Supplies Of Peace Silver Dollars

Unlike its predecessor, the Morgan Silver Dollar, Peace Dollars were not nearly as prolific, with far fewer releases and just a third the number of total coins released to the public. Many Peace Dollars were also damaged during circulation so finding nice examples of these attractive coins today can be quite difficult. In fact, coin experts estimate that as few as 16% of all Peace Dollars still exist in any condition. Don't wait, order yours now!

COIN HIGHLIGHTS:

  • FAMOUS PEACE SILVER DOLLAR – While not produced in the same numbers as the Morgan Silver Dollar, the Peace Silver Dollar series has seen its reputation grow with each passing year. Designed by Anthony de Francisci, it features a design of Lady Liberty on the obverse and a perched eagle on the reverse. It was struck from only 1921 to 1928 and again in 1934 and 1935.
  • LAST YEAR OF ISSUE – These coins were struck by the Philadelphia Mint (no mint mark) in 1935–the last year the coin was struck.
  • STRUCK IN FINE SILVER – Each Peace Silver Dollar available here was struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 26.73 grams of highly pure 90% fine silver and measures 38.1 mm in diameter.
  • LEGAL TENDER U.S. COINAGE – These coins were $1 legal tender in the United States and circulated widely during the Roaring '20s and Depression-era '30s.
  • CHOICE UNCIRCULATED CONDITION – Your 1935-P Peace Dollar has been graded by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) in Choice Uncirculated Mint State-63 (MS63) condition.
  • THE CASE OF THE DISAPPEARING PEACE DOLLAR – Despite millions of Peace Silver Dollars being struck from 1921 to 1935, most were lost in circulation or melted down in mass silver meltings. In fact, coin experts believe that only 16% of all Peace Dollars remain in existence today!

The Peace Dollar was America's last dollar series struck entirely in 90% fine silver. Don't miss your chance to obtain the last coin from Philadelphia Mint! Add this key date coin from this fabulous often-overlooked series to your collection today!
