1936-P 50 Cent Gettysburg NGC/PCGS MS64 With Note
1936 Gettysburg Commemorative--Includes Civil War Currency Note and 3-Coin Civil War Set!
This half dollar commemorative was struck in 1936, two years before the 75th anniversary of Gettysburg. Veteran James Sankey of Pennsylvania donned his old cap at the age of 90 to model for this half dollar design. His face was used to represent both the Union and Confederate soldiers on the obverse. The reverse depicts the Union and C.S.A. shields.
Each half dollar was struck in 12.50 grams of 90% fine silver, and is available here graded by NGC or PCGS in Mint State-64 (MS64) or Mint State-65 (MS65) condition. In addition, each commemorative will arrive with an authentic Civil War-era South Carolina bank note, as well as a three-piece vintage coin set titled "Vanishing Cents of the Civil War." Grading service varies.
