So Popular, It Was Struck Twice!

This Cleveland Centennial/Great Lakes Exposition Commemorative Half Dollar shows a date of 1936, but it was so popular that the U.S. Mint issued the coin in both 1936 and 1937! This set it apart from many other commemoratives as one to actually reach its maximum mintage – in this case, 50,030 pieces. As the coin’s name suggests, it marked the 100th year of Cleveland, and coincided with the Great Lakes Exposition held on the shores of Lake Erie. Secure this popular commemorative in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition!
