Lowest Mintage 1940s Walking Liberty

The Walking Liberty Half Dollar – affectionately known to many collectors as a “Walker” – is surely one of the most beautiful coins ever struck by the U.S. Mint. In fact, the Walking Liberty obverse is so iconic and beloved that it was resurrected in 1986 as the obverse for today’s Silver Eagles! But what we have here is not just any Walker, but a key date coin struck just one year after the end of World War II!

“Walkers” From the Denver Mint

In the 1940s, the lowest mintage of these classic coins was the 1946-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar struck by the Denver Mint. Only 2.151 million of these beautiful coins were produced by the Denver Mint, and when we were recently given first right of refusal on a small hoard of these low-mintage coins we quickly snapped them up. Now you can secure one for your collection at a great price, and a great grade. How great? Each comes certified and graded by either the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) or the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) in Gem Uncirculated Mint State-66 (MS66) condition! Grading Service varies.
