It's All About Abraham Lincoln

The 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln was a lawyer and statesman who was tragically assassinated in 1865. More than a President, he was THE central figure of his time who led the nation through the American Civil War and succeeded in preserving the Union, abolishing slavery, bolstering the federal government, and modernizing the U.S. economy. Here you've got a two-piece set of U.S. coins and currency that feature Lincoln's effigy:

  • $5 LINCOLN RED SEAL NOTE - In the history of the United States, only three dates of $5 small-sized notes were circulated with bright red seals and serial numbers—1928, 1953 and 1963. First issued more than 90 years ago, these notes were heavily circulated, and then most were redeemed and destroyed. Here we have either a 1953 or a 1963 note (date our choice) small-sized Red Seal $5 Notes in Fine to Very Fine (F-VF) condition, its stark red seal still plainly visible beside the familiar portrait of Abraham Lincoln on the front and a highly-detailed image of the Lincoln Memorial—celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2022—on the back. This note is remarkable as the life expectancy of a $5 bill is only 4.7 years!
  • 1909 LINCOLN CENT - This first-year-of-issue 1909 Lincoln Penny is more than 110 years old. It was designed by famed sculptor Victor David Brenner and was struck to observe the 100th anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln's birth in 1809. Unlike today's Lincoln Pennies that are struck in copper-plated zinc, this coin was struck in 95% copper—and would be until 1982 except for 1943 when Lincoln Pennies were struck in steel during World War II. It will come in Good to Fine (G-F) condition—remarkable for a coin that is more than 110 years old from a series that has seen heavy circulation over the past century!

This two-piece set come packaged together in a wallet that includes a card that provides context for these wonderful pieces of history. Great price, secure yours!
