This one-year only issue Churchill Crown struck 58 years ago in 1965 honors the legacy of the larger-than-life man that Time magazine twice named its Person of the Year. A soldier, journalist, and ultimately Prime Minister of Great Britain, Sir Winston Churchill proved to be a source of hope as he guided his nation to victory in World War II, as well as one of the Allies' most indomitable leaders in the fight against Nazi Germany. After his death at the age of 90, Queen Elizabeth II decreed that his body lay in-state for three days. The Queen attended his funeral at St. Paul's Cathedral, which was almost unheard of for a monarch.
