Back in 1990, China released a program of commemorative coins known as the Phoenix and Dragon series. These coins were struck with extremely limited mintages, making them incredibly sought-after pieces today. They display an intricately sculpted design of a phoenix flying in an arc above a dragon. Struck in 99.9% pure silver, just 12,000 one-ounce silver proofs and a scant 5,000 two-ounce silver proofs were released.
