1993 Hawaiian Sovereign Silver and Gold 4-Piece Proof Set
1993 Hawaii Sovereign Silver and Gold Proof Set
What an incredible find! In 1993, on the 100th anniversary of the overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawaii and the loss of sovereignty for the Hawaiian people, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs authorized the striking and release of a special four-proof set from the Royal Hawaiian Mint struck in 99.99% pure gold and 99.9% fine silver.
The obverse of each proof features a portrait of King Kamehameha I, the man who united and became the first MO’I (king) of the Hawaiian Islands. The reverse displays each proof’s weight and purity, along with the individual number of the set to which the proofs belong. The set includes a quarter-ounce gold, tenth-ounce gold, twentieth-ounce gold and one-ounce silver proofs.
Incredibly, only 950 of these sets were created, but our experts managed to track down set number 266. These sets are scarce and rarely available, so become one of the lucky few to call one your own!
