In 1999, the South Africa Mint initiated the Monarchs of Africa Natura series with this spectacular four-piece set honoring the African kudu bull -- known as the king of all the antelope.
He was also the king of all the gold coins in 1999. He won the prestigious "Most Beautiful Gold Coin in the World" award at the Coin of the Year ceremony, the "Academy Awards" for coins! And it's no wonder -- the spectacular design replicated on each coin features the head of the majestic bull with his signature corkscrew horns.
The set contains four proof coins: one ounce, half-ounce, quarter-ounce and tenth-ounce. Each is struck to exacting proof standards in 99.99% fine gold. The Prestige Proof set comes in the original official mint box and includes a certificate of authenticity and a miniature sterling silver kudu. Only 499 sets were minted, so supplies are extremely limited. It's a set fit for a king, and that's no bull!
