Each set contained eleven coins: One example each, of the Lincoln Cent, Roosevelt Dime, Kennedy Half Dollar, Sacagawea "Golden" Dollar, Michigan Quarter, Florida Quarter, Texas Quarter, Iowa Quarter, and Wisconsin Quarter (all Copper-Nickel Clad). The set also contains two Westward Journey Nickels - the Peace Medal and Keelboat designs.

About the sets: All coins in the 2004-S Proof Set were intended to have a Cameo or Deep Cameo Finish.

Mintage: 1,175,934 sets

Original packaging: The 2004-S Proof Set comes in two cases. One case contains the Cent, two Nickels, Dime, and Half Dollar; the other case contains the year's five 50 States Quarters. The coins are inserted into holes in a cardboard holder with a blue-colored flag design (to distinguish it from the red-colored flag design of the Silver Proof Sets), then sealed inside a two-piece, clear plastic case. The cases and certificates of authenticity were inserted into a colorful, card-stock box with the head of the Statue of Liberty printed on the left side.

San Francisco - S
Established in 1853 to strike coins from California’s newly-discovered vast reserves of gold, the San Francisco branch of the United States Mint is famous for the quality, lustrous Morgan Silver Dollars produced at "The Granite Lady" from 1878 to 1921. After moving to a new building in 1937, coin production at the San Francisco mint shut down in 1955. A shortage caused regular coin production to resume in 1965. While the mintage of circulating coins ceased in 1981, proof coins and commemoratives are still struck at the San Francisco Mint today.
