2007 Australia 1-oz Silver Koala NGC MS70
Is This Little Fella the Mickey Mantle of Australia?
In 1951, Mickey Mantle started his career with the Yankees. His rookie-year baseball card is one of the most prized of all. Why? Because not many were printed. The same holds true for coins like this 2007 first-year-of-issue Koala 99.9% Silver Dollar. It shows Australia's signature Koala on a tree branch with a unique diamond-faceted background. The mintage was less than 3% of the mintage of the 2007 U.S. Silver Eagles that same year. Both are legal-tender coins and both have an ounce of silver. The Koalas sold out at the mint and virtually disappeared from the marketplace. Who got them? Well, the same type of savvy collector who saved Mantle's rookie card in pristine condition! So, when we found a small hoard of 2007 Silver Koalas graded perfect Mint State-70 (MS70) by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), we didn't hesitate - we secured the whole lot. Is this little fella the Mickey Mantle of Australia? Time will tell. Grab yours now!
