Nevermind the Elephant in the Room: This Mint Mistake is Your Gain!

Oops. This group of coins was accidentally struck using the incorrect obverse die, mistakenly stamping .999 Au instead of .999 Ag. Once the mint discovered this coin-minting atrocity, they stamped it again, to avoid third parties from gold-plating the coins and trying to counterfeit them in the future. That makes this 1-oz. Silver Elephant Mule Coin extremely rare and a must for your discriminating collection!

What is a “Mule” coin? Just as a mule is the offspring of a horse and a donkey, a mule coin is one struck from two dies which were never intended to be used together. This kind of dramatic error is very rarely made, and it’s even rarer for these mules to leak into the market place, luckily, we got them all and our founder was so thrilled, he took the first two for his personal collection!

ONLY 78 OF THIS GRADE - Originally 1,500 of these coins were struck, but the mint destroyed 1,000, leaving only 500 coins – of which ONLY 78 have been authenticated and graded by NGC as MS68. This is an extremely low quantity that makes this coin even more in demand, order yours today before they sell out!

EXQUISITE AFRICAN ELEPHANTS IN 99.9% SILVER – Struck in .999 Ag silver and weighing 31.1 grams, this one-ounce coin is a beauty with sharp details (minus the double stamping, that is!) The obverse features a mother elephant walking beside her calf among trees with birds in the sky, inscripted with AFRICAN WILDLIFE at the top and ELEPHANT, 1 OZ, the double stamp and 999 at the bottom. The reverse displays the Somalia Coat of Arms with two leopards holding a shield and the same five-pointed star that graces the Somalian flag. The reverse is inscribed with SOMALI REPUBLIC, 2015 and 100 SHILLINGS. These coins first debuted in 2004, commissioned by the Republic of Somalia and struck by the Bavarian State Mint to honor Africa’s most iconic animal: the African elephant.

SOMALI LEGAL TENDER -- This 1-oz. silver elephant mule has a legal tender value of 100 shillings.

CERTIFIED AND GRADED -- Your coin will come certified MS68 by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC).

SONICALLY SEALED -- Your coin will be sonically sealed in an acrylic case with a white display core – giving you the best in protection while granting clear sightlines into every beautiful detail.

EXTREMELY LIMITED MINTAGE -- 1,500 of these mules were originally struck. The mint destroyed 1,000, leaving only 500 coins, of which ONLY 78 were graded MS68. This level of rarity demands attention and a quick stop at GovMint.com to place an order!

If we could talk to the animals (these elephants, specifically) they’d say there’s been a HUGE mistake, but that makes these impressive coins even more rare and a sight to behold in your treasured collection! Don’t miss out, order your own 2015 1-oz. Silver Elephant Mule Coin NGC-MS68 today and be proud of the elephant in the room!
