2016 5-oz Silver Shawnee National Forest Uncirculated NGC SP69
Add This Five Ounce Silver Shawnee National Forest America the Beautiful Specimen to your collection today!
The U.S. Mint launched the America the Beautiful Quarters Program™ in 2010. The 12-year initiative includes 56 quarters featuring reverse designs depicting some of our most cherished national parks and other national sites. In addition to the regular circulating quarter, the Mint strikes a limited number of massive Five Ounce Silver versions for collectors.
This 2016 Shawnee Forest Five Ounce Silver Specimen is now available, fresh from the Mint! It features a close view of Camel Rock with natural vegetation in the foreground and a red–tailed hawk soaring in the sky overhead. Inscriptions are "SHAWNEE," "ILLINOIS," "2016" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM." The obverse shows the 1932 portrait of George Washington by John Flanagan, restored to bring out subtle details and the beauty of the original model.
This Specimen strike has an extremely limited edition of only 30,000 - when these are gone, they will never be minted again! Each coin has incused edge lettering on each coin states: ".999 fine silver 5.0 ounce," and bears the "P" for Philadelphia mintmark. This example grades near-perfect Specimen-69 (SP69) by Numismatic Guarantee Corporation (NGC) and comes in a sealed acrylic hold to preserve your coin's grade forever.
