The Spectacular 2016 Gods and Goddesses High Relief Silver Set!

This is the first in a three-set series of coins featuring the Gods and Goddesses of Olympus. The Perth Mint struck each coin in two ounces of 99.9% silver with a high relief antique finish -- that equals eight ounces of pure silver in each set!

Each of the four Gods and Goddesses are captured in regal action:

• The bearded Zeus sits on his throne with an eagle perched on his right hand and a lightning bolt in his left hand with ZEUS engraved below him.
• Hera wears a polos crown, sitting on a throne in the Temple of Hera, holding a pomegranate in her right hand. She is pictured with three peacocks and the inscription HERA.
• Poseidon emerges from the waves with his two hippocampi while clutching his trident. The inscription POSEIDON appears below him.
• Demeter stands in a field, surrounded by wheat, with two chickens. She is holding a basket full of grapes and standing under a grapevine with DEMETER engraved at the bottom.

Due to the complexities in designing and striking coins with this type of high relief design and antiqued finish, the minting process for these coins was particularly intense. Together, all three sets of the series will take more than a year to strike! Each release has been purposely limited to no more than four coins in order to maintain the high level of quality we've come to expect from The Perth Mint.
