2016 Great Britain 500 Pound Kilo Silver Queen Elizabeth II 90th Birthday NGC PF70UCAM First Struck
Join in the Celebration with This 2016 Queen Elizabeth II 90th Birthday Silver Kilo Proof!
Britain's Royal Mint presents to the collecting world this massive full Kilogram Silver Proof celebrating the 90th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Actually, massive only begins to describe this weighty tribute! A kilogram is 1,000 grams, equaling about 2.2 pounds of 99.9% silver. This coin also has a face value of £500 (five hundred pounds).
Only 450 examples of this spectacular proof were minted, making it highly sought after in a collecting world where Her Majesty is one of the most popular themes. But even more significant are other additions to this proof's premier status. It grades perfect Proof-70 Ultra Cameo First Struck (PF70UC FS) by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC), and that First Struck status is certified by Britain's prestigious Royal Mint.
The obverse of the coin features a stunning portrait of Her Majesty. The reverse shows nine roses, one for each decade of the Queen's life. Designed by artist Christopher Hobbs, he was inspired by the heraldic rose of England and the Queen's love of flowers. The central monogram represents her name and title – EIIR – which is surrounded by the classical wreath of nine roses, each different from the other, along with the phrase "Full of Honour and Years."
In years to come, this large silver proof could be among the most collectible of any struck by the Royal Mint. Add it to your collection today!
