The Final Centennial Gold Coin of 2016 is Walking Your Way!

A century ago, three of the most iconic coin designs in American history saw their very first releases. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of this numismatic trilogy, the U.S. mint created the Centennial Commemorative Series. And, while Adolph A. Weinman's Mercury Dime and Hermon Atkins MacNeil's Standing Liberty Quarter have both seen gorgeous (and popular!) reissues, there's one more release that collectors have been anticipating -- the Walking Liberty Half Dollar!

Adolph A. Weinman's iconic creation is the centerpiece of two important coin series. First, it was featured on the titular Walking Liberty Half Dollar of 1916 to 1947. More recently, the design is the obverse of the popular American Silver Eagle series that started production in 1986 and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2016. For this centennial release, the original Walking Liberty Half Dollar design is seeing the mint floor for the first time in almost 70 years. Using state-of-the-art technology, these Centennial Walking Liberty Half Dollars will showcase the fine detail and intricate artistry that Weinman first envisioned -- only this time, on a field of gold.

Collectors around the world have already made the first Centennial Gold Coins of the series among 2016's most popular releases, and we definitely expect these Gold Walking Liberty Half Dollars to follow suit. Time will definitely be of the essence!
