Like previous coins of the series, mintage of the 2017 Roaring Deer was limited. The maximum for this coin was set at 2,500 pieces. Each one is made of .925 fine Silver, weighs ½ troy oz., and has a gilded finish. This means the coin itself is Silver and the outside has been plated with a layer of gold.

The Mongolian Nature series began in 2013 with the Crying Wolf design. Each of these coins depicts an animal that can be found in Mongolia. Cut-Out Roaring Deer Design

Since this coin features a cut-out design, the obverse and reverse look rather similar. However, the obverse displays the Mongolian coat of arms next to the deer.

When the coin is flipped to view the reverse the deer faces the right. The inscription on this side reads “MONGOLIAN NATURE 2017.” In terms of devices and relief, the design is quite simple. There is no denying that the cut-out design is unique though. The cut-out portion even follows along most of the edge of the coin and visually creates a border around the deer.
