Commemorate the Historic Swiss Shooting Festival
Switzerland’s Schützenfest is an annual shooting festival held in a different canton, or state, each year. Dating back to medieval times, the festival’s main feature is a target shooting competition, introduced as a way of encouraging citizens to increase and maintain skills that become invaluable in times of war.

On the obverse, Victory stands with a rife while offering a laurel wreath to the winner of the shooting competition. Above her, the coin announces the city of Stans, capital city of the Swiss canton of Nidwalden, as the location for the 2018 festival. The reverse displays the coins legal-tender value within a wreath of oak and laurel leaves, along with a pair of crossed rifles.

Graders at the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) found that this coin lacked any flaws visible under 5x magnification and gave it perfect grade of Proof 70 Ultra Cameo.
