The obverse commemorates the origins of the American Legion with an image of the Eiffel Tower and a “V” for victory to represent the formation of the organization in Paris. Around the rim of the coin is a geometric design taken from the American Legion emblem. The coin’s reverse shows a soaring American Eagle with the American Legion emblem depicted above the eagle.
