The U.S. Mint’s Third American Innovation™ Release for 2019

Americans love inventors and innovations that make life easier. In addition, each coin available in this offer has been graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) as being in flawless Proof-70 (PF70) condition, a distinction that means your perfectly-graded proof will have ZERO imperfections – showing all features and fields exactly as the engraver and mint intended. The reverse design features an Edison light bulb depicted in front of an ornately designed background. Inscriptions are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” and “NEW JERSEY.” The New Jersey coin pays tribute to the development of the electric light bulb by famed inventor Thomas Edison and his team of researchers at his laboratory in Menlo Park, New Jersey. The coin’s obverse features a common design that will be used throughout the series. It depicts the Statue of Liberty along with a small privy mark of a stylized gear, representing industry and innovation. In addition, like the other coins issued in 2019, the New Jersey Dollar features the incused edge inscriptions: “2019,” “S” mint mark, and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
