2020 Platinum Eagle Proof Concludes U.S. Mint’s “Preamble” Series

In 2018, the U.S. Mint began a new Platinum Eagle series honoring the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence. Following the success off 2018’s “Life” and 2019’s “Liberty,” 2020 arrives with the incredible “Pursuit of Happiness” release to close out this amazing series.

Fabulously struck by the West Point Mint in one ounce of highly pure 99.95% platinum, this $100 legal-tender U.S. coin shows a vibrant agricultural scene that depicts Lady Liberty harvesting the fruits of her labors while a young girl playfully chases a butterfly by her side. Engraved just to left of Liberty is the word “Happiness” in a script that mimics the writing style used on the original Declaration of Independence document written by Thomas Jefferson in 1776.

As with the previous two years in the series, the awe-inspiring design for the 2020 coin was created by Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) Designer Justin Kunz. The design is even more magnificent thanks to its dazzling proof finish.
