The United States Mint's former 12 Chief Engraver, Mercanti is an unquestioned giant in the numismatic world, a superstar talent who has produced more coin and medal designs than any person in U.S. Mint history! The obverse design shows a Majestic Bald Eagle in flight soaring high over a tree-lined mountain range while the sun and its rays can be seen rising in the background. The reverse depicts a stoic and proud eagle standing resolutely with an American Flag.
