2023 Welcomes The Return Of The Peace Silver Dollar

The Peace Silver Dollar is one of America’s most popular vintage coins and the last silver dollar series struck for circulation entirely in silver. The short-lived series was struck from 1921 to 1928 and again in 1934 & 1935. The U.S. Mint struck the coin again in 2021 in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Peace Dollar’s first year of issue. The rest is all still there—the same profile of Lady Liberty wearing a crown of rays modeled after the design of the Statue of Liberty. The model for Lady Liberty was 23-year-old Teresa Cafarelli de Francisci, the young sculptor’s wife. The familiar reverse returns as well showing an eagle at rest holding an olive branch above the inscription “PEACE.”

Each coin available here was struck at the Philadelphia Mint and, just like the vintage Peace Dollars struck there more than a century ago, has no mint mark. Plus, each has been graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) as being in flawless Uncirculated Mint State-70 (MS70) condition, a distinction that means these perfectly-graded coins have ZERO imperfections—showing all features and fields exactly as the engraver and mint intended. In addition, NGC has certified that these Peace Dollars are First Day of Issue (FDI) coins, a designation that means they were received by NGC or an NGC-approved depository by the release date or on the business day within 24 hours of the official release date.
