THE MINT
Established in 1792, the Philadelphia Mint is the original U.S. Mint facility and the cornerstone of American coinage history. While the Philadelphia Mint has long played a significant role in the Silver Eagle series, striking Proof coins from 1993 until 2000 and focusing mainly on Mint State issues in recent decades, the Mint has never struck a Proof Silver Eagle with a privy mark until now. This release also is also the first Proof Silver Eagle struck in Philadelphia since 2000.
