/ HISTORY
From 1775 to Today: The Navy’s Enduring Legacy
Founded on November 10, 1775, at Tun Tavern in Philadelphia, the U.S. Marine Corps has served as America's rapid-response force for 250 years, guided by courage, discipline, and the enduring motto Semper Fidelis, "Always Faithful."
This historic Philadelphia release brings that legacy full circle, honoring the Corps in the city where the Marines and the U.S. Mint were born.

Adolph Weinman's iconic Walking Liberty graces the obverse—a timeless symbol of freedom and progress that has captivated collectors since 1916.

The Reverse
The reverse features Emily Damstra's "Eagle Landing" design, where America's national bird is depicted mid-flight, wings spread, talons gripping an oak branch.

The Final Release in a Historic Trilogy
This Philadelphia issue concludes the groundbreaking 250th Anniversary Military Privy Series, each honoring a different branch of the U.S. Armed Forces and each struck at a different U.S. Mint:

Navy
San Francisco Mint

/ MINTING
HISTORIC FIRST.
FLAWLESS QUALITY.
GENUINE RARITY.
Established in 1792, the Philadelphia Mint is the original U.S. Mint facility and the cornerstone of American coinage history. While the Philadelphia Mint has long played a significant role in the Silver Eagle series, striking Proof coins from 1993 until 2000 and focusing mainly on Mint State issues in recent decades, the Mint has never struck a Proof Silver Eagle with a privy mark until now. This release also is also the first Proof Silver Eagle struck in Philadelphia since 2000, and the first Type II to feature the coveted P mint mark.
