Thanks in part to the efforts of former U.S. Mint Director David J. Ryder, these historic coins were revived in 2021 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the last Morgan and first Peace Dollar. That initial release sold out instantly—and demand for those coins remains strong today.

In 2025, the Morgan & Peace Silver Dollar series returns for its fourth year of issue, with a record-low authorized mintage: just 150,000 of each coin.

Lowest Mintages of the Modern Series

In 2021, the U.S. Mint issued totaling 875,000 morgan and 200,000 peace uncirculated coins across five formats. In 2025, that number drops to just 150,000 of each Morgan and Peace Dollar—making this release the lowest mintage in the modern Morgan & Peace Dollar program.

The Morgan Dollar: A Symbol of Westward Expansion

Designed by George T. Morgan and struck from 1878–1904 and again in 1921, the Morgan Dollar saw America through frontier justice, industrialization, and global war. Its Liberty obverse and eagle reverse represent a bold young nation.

The Peace Dollar: 
The Spirit of a New Era

First minted in 1921 and designed by Anthony de Francisci, the Peace Dollar reflected a changed country—optimistic after WWI and on the verge of sweeping social change. Its eagle-at-rest design and radiant Liberty captured the mood of a new generation.

Just like the originals, these coins measure 38.1 mm in diameter—but are now struck in 99.9% fine silver using modern minting technology. While vintage versions contained .773 oz of silver, these 2025 issues contain .859 oz each.
